Proven Leadership,

Real-World Results

Voters often ask how experience in the private sector prepares someone for public office. The answer is simple: for more than two decades, I’ve been responsible for people, budgets, regulatory obligations, and results – with real consequences when decisions fall short.

Effective local government requires many of the same skills demanded in successful organizations: fiscal discipline, operational oversight, long-term planning, and the ability to listen, adapt, and deliver. That is the perspective I bring to public service.

Executive Stewardship, Fiscal Responsibility

As a longtime business owner in Anne Arundel County, I am responsible for organizations that collectively support several hundred employees each year. That responsibility includes overseeing operating budgets and payrolls totaling tens of millions of dollars annually, ensuring sound financial controls, and making decisions that directly affect workers, families, and the long-term health of the organization.

Managing at this scale requires careful judgment, transparency, and accountability, especially when resources are restricted and tradeoffs are unavoidable. I will bring that same disciplined, results-focused approach to County Council, ensuring taxpayer dollars are managed responsibly and invested where they deliver real value.

An Economic Perspective Rooted in Reality

I hold a college degree in Economics and International Trade, and my approach to public service is grounded in data, practicality, and long-term thinking. I understand how economic forces shape housing affordability, labor markets, small business growth, and regional competitiveness, and why responsible growth must be paired with fiscal restraint and thoughtful planning.

Local government should promote opportunities while protecting quality of life. Achieving that balance requires clear priorities, careful budgeting, and leadership that understands both numbers and people.

Policy Engagement

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with government institutions – not as a career politician, but as a business owner operating within complex regulatory frameworks and advocating for practical, lawful solutions.

I have engaged directly with agencies including the U.S. Department of Labor, Department of State, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission, working within regulatory requirements, contributing industry perspective, and helping ensure that policies achieve their intended goals without unnecessary burden on workers or employers.

Government Experience

I have also personally participated in meetings with members of Congress to discuss a range of issues affecting businesses and the broader economic environment. These experiences gave me a clear understanding of how policy decisions are made, how regulations translate into real-world impact, and why informed, constructive engagement matters.

This background allows me to bridge the gap between policy and reality – what I believe is an essential skill for effective local leadership.
